Think Fabricate’s Lantern Helix chandelier
Think Fabricate, a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary design firm, has introduced a new chandelier, the Lantern Helix. It is an inventive take on the classic lighting typology that is just as grand as it is playful.
The idea of combining and intermingling geometries informs the design of the Lantern Helix, which features fourteen individual Think Lanterns that vary in size, shape, and finish: flared or straight in profile, tall or short in height, and made of satin cold rolled-steel that is left exposed or lacquered in a medley of gold and white. Arranged in a cascading helix that follows the path created by the overlapping hexagonal forms of the canopy above, the lanterns feel collected and in harmony despite their diversity in form. This artful composition extends beyond the chandelier itself; the entire sculptural arrangement comes to life through shadow play as the lanterns cast angular patterns of light and darkness on each other and the space around.
At almost 4 feet in height, the dramatic Lantern Helix is a perfect statement piece for a grand staircase, lobby, or space of loft-like proportions.
