Neolith offers a new format size of 125 by 59 inches and thickness of 1/2 inch for kitchen and bathroom countertops.

Neolith, a brand of all-natural, premium compact surfaces for kitchen and bathroom countertops, flooring, interior wall cladding applications and exterior facades, has introduced a new format size and thickness in all collections. Manufactured by Spanish company, TheSize, Neolith combines the best raw materials with state-of-the-art technology to create a high-tech compact surface slab for varying home design and commercial applications.

Through the newly introduced format size of 3200 by 1500 millimeters (125 by 59 inches) and thickness of 12 millimeters (1/2 inch), Neolith is now able to offer a larger, thicker slab for kitchen and bathroom countertops. The new size allows for better utilization of the surface, as well as reduced waste. For instance, one large slab can be utilized for two full countertops. Neolith will continue to offer its original thickness and format sizes for additional applications including:

  • 3 mm (1/8 inch) thickness and 3600 by 1200 mm (144 by 48 inches), ideal for use as indoor finishings in bathrooms, kitchens, walls, and on furniture such as tables, wardrobes/closets, doors and office partitions. This thickness is ideal for refurbishment projects. Being so thin, it can be placed directly on the existing surface without the need to extract, helping to reduce project execution times, costs and waste in landfills.
  • 5 mm (3/16 inch) thickness and 3600 by 1200 mm (144 by 48 inches), ideal for use in flooring, indoors and outdoors; stairs; covered pools; and exterior facades.

The new format and thickness is created through TheSize’s proprietary Sinterization technology. This process exposes minerals and other raw materials to extremely high pressure and temperature (more than 1200 C/2200 F), resembling the way natural stones are created over thousands of years, in just hours. The process gives the product outstanding physical and mechanical properties in terms of compaction, resistance and durability. Eliminating the need for laminate assembling, the upgraded Sinterization process improves overall aesthetics and durability of the slab.

The upgraded Sinterization technology is made possible through a recent expansion of TheSize’s production facilities. A second line allows for segmentation of specific formats and thicknesses, improving efficiencies and tripling the yearly production capacity, resulting in increased productivity shorter lead times.

Neolith’s product is 100 percent natural, composed of raw materials—clays, feldspar, silica and natural mineral oxides—and is recyclable. Neolith has near-zero porosity, making the product hygienic, stain resistant, easy to clean and impervious to chemicals. The product is also wear, scratch, heat resistant and its colors, because they are all-natural, do not vary when exposed to UV rays. Additionally, the product is lightweight and easy to install, making Neolith suitable for virtually every indoor and outdoor home surface.
