Fil Doux Textiles, a producer of mill-direct, luxurious upholstery and Otratex—the first-ever degradable vinyl alternative—has unveiled five Box Sock patterns. As a modern, machine-washable bed skirt alternative, Box Socks offer a quick, convenient, and affordable upgrade to the hotel guest room and cruise line cabin. Available now, the new patterns—Pegasus, Artemis, Hera, Rhea, and Gaia—offer additional luxury options within the Box Sock line that cover an existing box spring to contemporize the room aesthetic.
Fil Doux has seen an increased demand for Box Socks—particularly among four and five star hotels—as more brands move away from a traditional bed skirt. Having already sold millions of Box Socks to iconic hotels brands, like Hilton, Wyndham Hotels, and IHG’s Holiday Inn Express, the mill-direct pricing and custom made-to-order process make Box Sock a solution for all hospitality projects. Made with a proprietary blend of spandex and lycra, the Box Sock fits tightly around any size box spring and has quickly become a fan-favorite among hotel housekeeping staff.
The Box Sock collection is available in 11 washable patterns total, which collectively offer 60 colors to choose from. The proprietary fabric blend has memory control allowing it to stay snug against the box spring with no unwanted movement or stretching. Fil Doux’s intuitive design allows for one person to easily remove the Box Sock for cleaning. Because of the inherent memory of the polyester and lycra blend, it will bounce back to its original shape once it is placed back on the box spring.
The new Box Sock patterns include:
Artemis: Offering seven neutral and pastel colors—Grey, Mocha, Natural, Palm, Winter Sky, Sand, and Petal Pink—Artemis boasts a smock-like pattern with small pleats in the fabric for a perfectly soft aesthetic.
Gaia: Available in five warm neutrals, Gaia’s color palette easily complements existing interiors. Using caramel tones and light greys, the textile appears to be hand woven giving it added textural interest.
Hera: With an eye-catching billowy texture, Hera’s 10 color options are bold and complement the lofty weave of the textile. In colors ranging from Rust to Marine, the hues emphasize the depth and texture of the collection.
Pegasus: Available in 10 colors, ranging from bold orange and red to warm chocolate and deep blue, Pegasus showcases a textured, dual-colored ribbed weave pattern. Forest green mixes with light green, black complements white, and dark brown blends with light brown.
Rhea: The five colors from Bright White to Ginger offer a simple color palette that adds touches of warmth to guest rooms. The subtle tonal differences in each color create a velvety appearance.
Highlighting a progressive approach to textile design, Fil Doux Textiles’ Otratex, upholstery fabrics, Box Socks, and sheer items are manufactured in the company’s fully-vertical, tariff-free mills located in Chile and Brazil, allowing for customization and industry-dominant lead times. All Fil Doux Textiles’ products are produced using sustainable practices—80 percent of the company’s energy comes from solar and wind power, dye waters for fabrics are reused, and leftover fabrics are repurposed for packaging. Also, in the spirit of environmental sustainability, the brand has partnered with 501(c) One Tree Planted with a pledge to donate 1,000 trees to Brazilian Rainforests for every 1,000 yards of Otratex purchased.
The Box Sock has a four to six week lead time with custom options available upon request. Fil Doux also works with designers on box spring covers for model room projects with a delivery time of two weeks or less.
