Sibast Sunrise No. 8 is a collectors item of the relaunched Sibast No. 8 chair that comes individually numbered in only 88 pieces. The chair is a result of the Danish design company, Sibast Furniture, collaborating with Danish artist and former musician Kasper Eistrup on a limited amount of personally signed pieces of art.
The stereotype version of Scandinavian or even Danish design is likely to be characterized using terms such as light wood, natural and neutral colours, without any unnecessary details.
This was also how Danish artist and former musician, Kasper Eistrup discovered the design classic Sibast Sunrise No. 8 from Danish design company, Sibast Furniture, a few years ago; clean and crisp.
He fell in love with the design and the associations that came along with the Sibast No. 8 that he felt inspired to interpret the chair to turn it into a piece of art. More on this at DANISH.
Sibast Sunrise No. 8 is a piece of art built on the fundamental design of Sibast No. 8. The chair is a relaunched Danish design classic made by deceased furniture architect Helge Sibast, the grandfather of the present owner, Ditlev Sibast.
To give detail to the chair, Eistrup has drawn the sunrise pictured in a round piece of brass embodied in the one side of the chair. The artist has personally signed each of the 88 chairs that are available by order.
